SAP recently commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact study and objectively examine the potential return on investment medium-sized customers may realize by deploying its SAP SuccessFactors HCM solutions. The purpose was to provide readers with a framework to evaluate the potential financial impact of SAP SuccessFactors HCM solutions on their organizations.

To better understand the benefits, costs and risks associated with this investment, Forrester conducted in-depth interviews with four medium-sized customers, each with between one and 10 years of experience using various SAP SuccessFactors solutions. The following are risk-adjusted present value (PV) quantified benefits and cost savings over a three-year period:

  • $1.9 million in total quantified benefits (risk- and PV-adjusted)
  • $462,756 savings for Performance, Goals and Compensation
  • $624,793 benefits for Learning, Succession and Development
  • Payback range of 14 to 21 months
